The book run

There’s something I should probably confess up front.  I barely use libraries.  I’ve dedicated myself to them, but I’m far too much of a bookaholic (I’ve been to meetings) myself to just borrow books except on rare occasions.

Thus one of my favorite activities is the book run, a nearly ritual tour of the used book mecca that is the Pioneer Valley.  7 towns, 8 hours and about a dozen of the best book stores known to man, life just doesn’t get any better.

When you do these runs, where do the books end up after you read them? In your collection? Back at the store? In a library? Elsewhere?

I horde mostly, and actually a bit dangerously. The current count is 1,692 books plus 20 longboxes of comics. I did mention the bit about the bookaholics meetings.

My previous apartment was on the 4th floor (no elevator) on a cliff. That was a bit hellish but the view was great. The worst part was the move out, there was this baby pigeon on the stairs that absolutely refused to move out of the way.
