What’s a Twiller?

Matt Richtel of the Times has aparently begun to publish a story of his over Twitter (via Linda Braun), 1 sentence at a time.  The idea is to let fans read the story as he writes it.  It’s a neat idea, but it’s a form of publishing that libraries cannot really participate in.

I’ve always thought that Twitter would be great for “circle story” type games. Set up one twitter account/feed for the story, then have contributors take turns adding lines. You could have it just be a free for all, or go in a specific rotation, or even let each line’s author indicate who goes next.

That’s a really good idea if you’re willing to work one sentence at a time. I’ve actually been doing two longer form stories just like that over e-mail. I’d also recommend google docs.
