Review: Scott Pilgrim vs. the Universe

There’s a new Scott Pilgrim book, and for a little while the world is a better place, just not for Scott.

When we last left him, Scott’s life was begining to come together at last, he found a job, his band actually had some success, and most of the league of evil ex-boyfriends had been defeated.  Obviously he couldn’t maintain that level of happiness for long.  This book is entirely devoted to bringing Scott to his lowest ebb, thus setting him up for the final volume of the series.

The fact that something so depressing could still be this fun is a testament to the skill of Bryan Lee O’Malley.  This is the most enjoyable comic being written today and I’m just glad there still one book left.
